The Friar's Wart between other peaks. We're going to the highest peak there.

An interesting vegetation growing in Duo's mountain house where we spent the night before going to camping.

The classic "description plaque picture".

The first 1/3 part of the trail. Very beautiful but with some awful rocks to step over. This part is exceptionally exhaustive when we're coming back down.

Gustavo with his walking sticks coming through the bambu arch in the second 1/3 part of the trail.

Me in the first plane with Duo' tying his shoes and Gustavo amuzing himself with Duo's techniques.

One of the many open landscapes in the never-ending left-right turns near the third shelter. These shelters used to be real cabins but until recently the first two disappeared completely and the last two were just clearings. Now the fourth shelter is back up and looks very nice. Anyway, we're almost getting to the third shelter where we're going to have some rest.

Me just resting my back from taking this extra heavy backpack of mine.

The very end of the last 1/3 of the trail. An open field with very tall grass and lots of mud puddles. The picture shows the beginning of the field trail and is taken from the last part, near the fourth shelter.

Time to get to the top and watch the sunset. This picture shows the shelter's camp clearing. The new cabin is hidden by the vegetation.

With the low temps in the top, we asked eachother: "who's going to put the hands in these nearly-frozen water puddles?" and I said "me, but I want a picture".

Gustavo made us the favor to bring his camping tools such as the gas lantern and the cooking set. We never thought it was so difficult to light up a gas lantern though...
(14204 bytes)
Luckily the gas burner is much easier.

Our nice, hot, smelling wonderfully but no tasting soup. Maybe next time we can bring some salt.

Ah, the cold weather...

Sunrise time. I thought we'd miss it! We got pretty confused with the trail doing it in the dark. Some neighbors liked to take suicidal shortcuts and thanks to them we tried the same wrong path about three times, lost two flashlights (Eduardo slipped, dropped his one which broke open and we never found one of the batteries and Duo's flashlight's batteries wore off), earned some small bruises and Eduardo got pretty sick for not eating anything before coming with us. But here we are!
(11575 bytes)
Well, sort of. Eduardo was so sick he couldn't get to the very top, so he and Duo' stayed there.
